Black Gangbangers DVD 5-Pack Vol 1-5

With a name like "Black Gangbangers", a 5-DVD disc set, and an astonishingly low price of $18.99 (at Adult Video Universe as of September 6, 2006), it's pretty obvious what this series is about: compilations of large numbers of similar-themed scenes of varying quality, all involving gangbangs with black guys. I suppose I could pontificate about the ethical questions involving race-themed porn, but let's just say that this particular budget disc pack gives you exactly what it advertises, and you have to respect truth in advertising. The set contains 5 discs, each of which runs for roughly 4 hours and contains 8 scenes. That's 40 scenes: 20 hours of porn for less than 20 bucks; from a "value for money" perspective it just doesn't get any better than that.

The format is quite predictable. In fact, it's so predictable that I'm sure you'll get bored long before you slog through this collection. But it was obviously never meant to be watched all the way through; at that price, this is a collection where you pick your favourite scenes and just skip to them. At that price, they could have 7 bad scenes for every good one, and it would still be a bargain. In any case, each scene starts the same way: there's usually a brief setup explaining why a nice white girl is getting royally reamed by a gang of black guys. Then we see her sucking their cocks for a little while, followed by various positions where she continues to suck dick while getting fucked in the pussy. And then we move onto anal, and then we move onto (usually) a DP, followed by the pop shots all over her face. I'm just saying this now so I can save you the bother of seeing the same description for pretty much every one of the 40 scenes in this collection. Production values are bare-bones. If you don't like that kind of material, stop right now because that's all you'll find on these discs. But if you do, then read on.

Volume 1

Scene 1 stars Inari Vachs and Jake Steed, having a couples' moment. It seems that they want to get married. But they're interrupted in mid-coitus by his friends, because as it turns out, Jake and his friends share everything. Even Inari. Naturally, since this is the bizarre parallel world of porn, she experiences only a moment of discomfort at the idea of taking on four guys at once, before getting right into it. This is a pretty good scene despite some "homeboy" chatter, because Inari Vachs is both cute and enthusiastic, making just enough noise to be exciting without getting repetitive and irritating. Thumbs up. This scene also received Rebecca's seal of approval.

Scene 2 is Chloe, working as a barmaid around closing time when the only patrons left in the bar are a handful of black guys sitting at one of the tables. Need I say more? Chloe is flirty and gets right down to business with her trademark Chloe-isms like the massive shuddering orgasm. This is another good scene, thanks largely to Chloe's noisy enthusiasm. Thumbs up. This scene would have received Rebecca's seal of approval if the lighting wasn't so bad. It's really dark.

Scene 3 stars Crickett, a blonde bimbo with huge artificial breasts and a clown-face (thanks to what look like collagen injections into her lip) who's playing a real estate agent who really wants to "make the sale", if you know what I mean. Unfortunately, her horribly silicone-enhanced body and collagen-injected face are major distractions because she's just such a damned bimbo that it's hard to like her. She's enthusiastic and vocal (although she doesn't take anal), but I just couldn't get over my initial negative reaction. Thumbs down.

Scene 4 stars Tricia Devereaux, who's looking for a modeling agency but seems to have stumbled into some guys doing renovations on the interior of a cheap porn production studio. They do a laughably bad job of looking like they're really working with the tools (this is not Gangbang Girl 14, and they don't really make much of an effort at authenticity). In fact, they look like they've never touched power tools before in their lives. Anyway, at this point they tell her that they can help audition her for the agency. Of course, we all know what this audition is going to be, and Tricia has no problem with that. Unfortunately, this scene left me flat. Her mouth was always full of cock, so we didn't really hear her voice a whole lot except for muffled "mfffmmfmmm" sounds. And there was a distinct sense that everyone was just going through the motions. Thumbs down.

Scene 5 stars Suzi, an Asian woman with waist-length hair who has apparently been hired as a masseuse. Of course, even in the real world we know that massage parlours are often fronts for prostitution, so it goes without saying that in the porn world, the masseuse walks in the door dressed more like a Thai hooker than a massage therapist. Unfortunately, the lighting is remarkably bad in this scene even by the standards of this budget compilation, which says something. It's unflattering and inconsistent, and she has a pimple on her ass, which is a pretty big distraction in some scenes. However, the girl shows very good enthusiasm, almost as if she really is a Thai hooker. I have to call a no-decision on this one.

Scene 6 stars Ariel, a dark-haired woman who's laying on a bed when three guys come walking in. If there was a story to set up this scene, I must have missed it. Anyway, she seems to be enjoying herself but the scene is distinctly lacking in energy. She doesn't make much noise, and she seems to belong to the "lie there and take it" school of sexual behaviour. Thumbs down.

Scene 7 stars Fawnna, a hot French blonde who is apparently visiting America for the first time. Naturally, the locals are going to give her a "Welcome to America" party that she won't forget for a long time, especially since she'll be walking funny for a while. She shows very good enthusiasm and very genuine reactions (including some realistic-looking discomfort with the anal), and those genuine reactions help make the scene. Thumbs up.

Scene 8 stars Malone, a brunette of unknown ethnic descent; I'm really not very good at identifying ethnicities from appearance unless someone tells me where they come from. In any case, there's no pretense of a setup story; she's just standing there, the guys show up, and she starts having sex with them. She is smiling and enjoying herself through the whole affair, but she's so laid-back and relaxed that the resulting energy level is too low for a good scene. She seems very casual about it all, even when taking it up the ass. Maybe she has a really interesting personal life, but her performance wasn't that interesting on the screen.

In conclusion, scenes #1, #2, and #7 on this disc are pretty good. The rest are pretty forgettable, with the possible exception of #5.

Volume 2

Scene 1 starts with Kelsey Heart sitting in bed reading, and then confronting some intruders in her home. They talk her into a gangbang, and we're off to the races! Not a bad scene, although there's nothing in it that really stands out. She makes pretty good noise and seems to be enjoying herself. Tentative thumbs up.

Scene 2 has no setup at all, just Jade and four black guys having sex. She's fairly noisy but I'm not so sure she's enjoying herself. Some of her reactions seem to be more pain than pleasure, and she obviously bailed out of the DP very quickly (based on the fact that they used slow motion to make the DP scene last longer). Thumbs down.

Scene 3 stars Jessica Jewel as a piano teacher who gets a visit from a bunch of black guys who want lessons. Well, that's the excuse they use to get the proverbial foot in the door, anyway. It doesn't take too long before they've talked her into a gangbang. She does a pretty good job, with decent enthusiasm and noise and fairly natural-looking reactions. Thumbs up. This scene received Rebecca's seal of approval.

Scene 4 involves Jake Steed finding out that his rich uncle left everything to him in his will ... and nothing to his gold-digger wife. Worse yet, it seems that the wife (Alexus Dane) was not on good terms with Jake, and looked down her nose at him. Yes, you can see this one coming a while away: it's the grudge fuck! She wants to stay in the house, and he wants to teach her a lesson. Ahhhh, symmetry. Having said that, it's not really a punishing gangbang; there are much more punishing scenes in this collection where you wonder if the girl staggered to the dressing room in a daze afterwards. In fact, it's a fairly well-done middle-of-the-road gangbang, with just the right amount of perceived discomfort (let's face it, a girl should be somewhat uncomfortable when getting fucked by dicks of that size, at least until she gets used to it). Thumbs up.

Scene 5 is Miko Lee standing on her balcony when she is confronted by a group of intruders. She tells them to get lost, and they basically drag her inside for a gangbang. I suppose you could say this is a rape scene, but the benefit of half-assed porno acting is that it never feels like one. They say their silly lines and then move onto the sex, and at no point is there any sense of menace or fear or real coercion. In any case, Miko is fairly vocal and enthusiastic, and gets a good solid reaming from the guys. Thumbs up.

Scene 6 is another plotless scene, in which Aspen Brock does three black guys for no apparent reason. It starts with a rap music background which I personally find very annoying, although I'm sure some people like it, but this eventually fades away into the usual background silence that you tend to find in this collection. The scene isn't bad, but there's nothing about it to really make it memorable or interesting either. That fact, in conjunction with the total lack of even the most perfunctory setup and the annoying rap music intro, combined to make me give this scene a thumbs-down.

Scene 7 has something to do with a bunch of guys looking for Alfredo because he owes them some money, and Alfredo isn't around. His wife (Michelle Ray) is around however, and it looks like she's got to pay the interest for her husband. Unfortunately, one of the guys looks like shit; he's obese, he looks like a slob, and he's got a ponytail to boot. This may not be a problem for your lonely raincoaters out there, but if you watch this with a girl, she's going to have a problem with that. And the rest of the scene is otherwise unremarkable, so there's no positive to balance out this negative. Thumbs down.

Scene 8 is an interview with a porn actress named Loni. She's a nice-looking brunette and she talks with them for a little while before informing them that she doesn't do black guys. Oops! One of them immediately locks the door, and it's pretty clear that her policy is about to change. Three black guys later, she's taken a black pole in every hole, and she seemed to genuinely enjoy herself while doing it. Thumbs up. This scene received Rebecca's seal of approval.

In conclusion, scenes #3, #4, #5, and #8 are pretty good. The rest are not so good, although #1 is passable.

Volume 3

Scene 1 is another mock home invasion scene, just as badly acted as the previous one. As you can see from the picture, it involves Harley Rain, a brunette with enormous artificial breasts, which is rather unfortunate as far as I'm concerned. And she doesn't make much noise or exhibit much energy, which is also rather unfortunate. In fact, you mostly hear the men during this scene, and I don't really like the sound of men groaning. Women moaning, yes. Men groaning, no. Thumbs down.

Scene 2 stars Nikita Denise, who is well-known for getting raunchy and enjoying it, and she lives up to her advance billing in this scene. No matter how hard they pound her or which orifice they're pounding, she's always up for more and she honestly seems to be enjoying it all. There's no setup at all and the video quality is poor, but her sheer enthusiasm more than makes up for those weaknesses. Thumbs up.

Scene 3 involves some sort of non-consensual sex in a classroom. The beginning of the scene is cut off so you can't see how it's set up (it was originally from Gangland 1), and it starts with Mr. Marcus grabbing the teacher (Alyssa Allure) and pulling her head toward his dick. She doesn't look too pleased, and she never really does seem to be enjoying herself that much as the scene goes on. Add to that the fact that she doesn't make much noise, the whole scene lacks energy, and she's carrying a few extra pounds, and this is not a winning scene. Thumbs down.

Scene 4 is yet another mock home invasion. The black gangbangers knock on the door and simply barge in when Sara opens it. Let this be a lesson to all you pretty white chicks: if you see Jake Steed and his friends at your door, don't open it or you'll get gangbanged! Unless, of course, that's what you want. And in porno land, all of the women secretly want to be gangbanged. So don't be surprised when she's eagerly gobbling cock less than a minute after being supposedly taken against her will. This scene is pretty good, with good energy and noise. Unfortunately, the director tends to suffer from the non-moving camera bug. In fact, during the entire DP sequence you don't see her face once. Nevertheless, the scene still earns a tentative thumbs-up.

Scene 5 is about Claudia, the secretary at the porn studio who's apparently rude to the other employees. They decide to enter her office and then enter her orifices in order to teach her a lesson, and she doesn't even put up any token resistance to this idea. This scene is very similar to the previous one, except that one of the guys is ugly as sin. Otherwise, it suffers from the same flaws and has some of the same strengths. But since the previous scene only barely made a thumbs-up, this one doesn't make the cut. Thumbs down.

Scene 6 has no setup at all; Candy Cotton starts the scene by taking off her clothes and getting ready for a gangbang. This scene has plenty of energy, but oddly enough, the girl seems to alternate between giggling and wincing in pain. There is an "unscriptedness" about her reactions which tends to suggest that they are genuine, and she is in noticeable discomfort during the anal sequence. Nevertheless, the scene has to get a tentative thumbs-up just for the fact that it seems more genuine than many of the others.

Scene 7 is yet another home invasion that quickly turns into a consensual gangbang, but Mr. Ugly Slob with Ponytail is back. Which is unfortunate because the scene is pretty good otherwise, with good energy and enthusiasm. Once they get going, they really give it to her (Tasha) and she eagerly takes it all. Despite the presence of Slob Man, the scene earns a thumbs up.

Scene 8 looks like it should be good, based solely on the fact that it starts with a nurse (Sky Phillips) who wants semen samples from the guys. Finally, a setup which is more imaginative than "home invasion" or no setup at all. But it also seems hardly worth the effort since they barely have to suggest it to her and she's stripping off her clothes. Shouldn't they have to work a bit at convincing her? In any case, there's something I didn't like about this scene and I had trouble putting my finger on it, but I think it's the fact that she's pretty passive through the whole thing. They do things to her, but she seems like she's just laying there and letting them do it, rather than getting into it herself. And she won't do anal, which seems rather odd for someone who is willing to take on 4 guys at once. In any case, this scene just didn't do it for me. Thumbs down.

In conclusion, this disc has a couple of good scenes on it: #2 and #7. It also has some marginally decent scenes: #3 and #6.

Volume 4

In Scene 1, the gang needs a new receptionist at their company and a brunette named Ryan comes in to apply for the job. I think you can imagine what the interview is like, and she takes a good solid reaming before the interview is over. She could stand to make more noise but it's a fairly good scene regardless, and the movements are energetic even if her voice is not. Thumbs up.

Scene 2 stars Brigitte Kerkove as a dominatrix who showed up at the wrong house. For a dominatrix, she seems to switch rather easily to the role of submissive sex toy for the gang, but this is porno land, after all. This is a pretty good scene; much less raunchy than some of Kerkove's more recent work (which is a good thing in this case, because the industry has unfortunately picked up a lot of Max Hardcore-style trends in the last few years). Kerkove is extremely vocal and also has what appears to be a genuine orgasm while being fucked up the ass: a rare event indeed and one which occurs previously in this 5-disc set only with Chloe. Thumbs up. This scene received Rebecca's seal of approval.

Scene 3 involves Christina and a guy who is supposedly an artist, painting a wall mural. She's his girlfriend and she promises that she would do anything for him. Turns out that "anything" in this case means making his friends happy, and there's only one way to make his friends happy. Twenty minutes later she's bent over a couch with a dick in her ass and another in her mouth, but the lighting in the scene is absolutely horrible (even by the standards of this collection, which is saying something), and to my eye, it looks like she's enduring this scene rather than enjoying it or even really participating in it. She's also carrying a few extra pounds, which doesn't help. Thumbs down.

Scene 4 starts with a blonde fake-titted foreigner standing on a balcony and reflecting to herself how much she's enjoying her first week in the United States. She starts to play with herself and reflects on how much she'd like a few American guys, whereupon Jake Steed and two other guys appear as if by magic. The scene is not bad, with decent vocalizing and energy. But there's something very generic about it. I guess there's just nothing to make this scene stand out, and when you're looking at a combi-pack containing 40 hours of porn, you kind of need a scene to stand out. Nevertheless, I can't find a good reason to give it a thumbs down either, so I'd have to give it a bit of a lukewarm thumbs up.

Scene 5 stars Charlene Aspen, who is auditioning for some kind of stripping or lapdancing job (one thing about these videos is that the audio quality is quite poor and dialogue is often difficult to discern). The scene itself is a little too low on the raunch scale with no anal or DP, but she is energetic and enthusiastic, both vocally and physically, and that makes a big difference in generic scenes like this. Once again, I'd give it a lukewarm thumbs up.

The first time Rebecca saw this scene with me, she said "that girl walks like a man." Wow, talk about killing the mood! What more can I say? Perhaps I shouldn't have expected anything else from a girl named "Blaza". Anyway, she orders the guys to service her, and they comply. She's fairly attractive once you get past that opening scene, but the scene's weak start hampers it as we move forward, and it's not too bad from that point on, but there's nothing especially good about it either, so I'd have to say thumbs down.

Wow, Scene 7 is yet another home invasion story. Don't these guys get sick of this same basic idea over and over? Anyway, the woman in this case is Jennifer Leigh and she has a bit of a hard look to her. She has really obvious tan-lines, a cigarette in her hand, and general look of someone whose overexposure to the sun is just about to push her past the point of looking like a wallet. That's a rough way to start the scene and while she puts in a good solid effort and takes a considerable reaming for our viewing entertainment, the whole "home invasion" thing is wearing pretty thin by now. There are better examples of this type of scene elsewhere in this collection. Thumbs down.

Scene 8 stars Elle Devyne. I must admit I've always liked Elle Devyne; she's a more "mature" woman but she looks good, and she looks real, like someone you might actually know. In short, she doesn't look plastic, and she actually looks believable in the beginning of this scene when she's playing a secretary. She's apparently taking care of some paperwork for a few ex-cons looking to go on welfare, and they refuse to behave so she starts lecturing them. Naturally, they don't take too well to being lectured, so they decide to administer a full-on gangbang to Miss Devyne. She initially resists, but this being porn, we know she'll be loving it before too long. The scene is fairly well-done and Miss Devyne does her usual fine job, so this is an easy thumbs up. Especially since it comes on the heels of so many unremarkable scenes in a row. This scene received Rebecca's seal of approval.

In conclusion, I'd have to say that scenes #1, #2, and #8 are good, while scenes #4 and #5 are passable.

Volume 5

Scene 1 is very generic. Javalla walks into the gang's living room and says she's looking for her boyfriend. The gang convinces her to let them all do her, and we're off to the races. The action in this scene is rather perfunctory, for lack of a better word. It seems like they're just going through the motions, and she doesn't make much noise until they stick it in her ass. Thumbs down.

Scene 2 stars Anastasia Blue, the infamously petite porn star who looks slightly underage but apparently isn't. As per her usual style, she looks like she's being fucked to her limits and beyond, but she keeps coming back for more. The scene starts with her walking into the gang's office trying to sell teddy bears for charity. They naturally offer to buy some, as long as she does something for them in return. Unfortunately, she gags when she starts sucking the guys' dicks, and in fact, she has a history of giving these sloppy, gagging blowjobs. I don't know who the men are who get turned on by that; it sickens me. In any case, once we get past that part of the scene things start to heat up, and she takes a serious pounding in both her pussy and her ass. As always with Anastasia Blue, her facial expressions and noises suggest that she can't handle this much cock, but she keeps doing these movies. At the end, there's some gross spit-swapping. This scene has to get a thumbs-down despite the amusing setup and her strong performance because of the beginning and the end. The sloppy gagging blowjob just ruins the scene for me, and the spitting at the end is annoying too. I suppose it would be a good scene if you just edited out those parts.

You know a girl wants some when she walks into the room wearing lingerie and brandishing a bottle of lube. That's what Allysin Embers does in Scene 3, and what the lady wants, the lady gets. Scene 4 stars Julie Meadows, who's meeting a guy for a blind date. And she gets a bit of a surprise which is best explained by her line: "Wow ... you're black." She obviously didn't expect a black guy, nor did she expect several of his friends to arrive so he'd have a ride. What sets this scene apart is the fact that they actually put in some real effort to act it out. Julie Meadows does a good job as the uncomfortable slightly racist white girl who can't believe this is happening, and the guys slowly cajole her out of her clothes. So the scene is completely consensual. Unfortunately the sex itself is nothing spectacular, although it's certainly not bad. But the setup is so well-done that we don't really need anything special in the sex. Not only did this scene receive Rebecca's seal of approval, it's actually her favourite scene in this entire compilation. Thumbs up.

Scene 5 has a fucked-up setup. It starts with a bunch of guys in a garage speaking "ebonics", and they pull Chantay out of the trunk of their car so they can fuck her. Add to that the fact that Mr. Slob Ponytail is back, and this is not a promising beginning to the scene. The sex itself wouldn't be too bad except that the mike is much closer to the guys than the girl in a lot of the scene, so you hear the guys and their irritating ebonics quite a bit, and you don't hear the girl as much. The camera angle also tends to stay fixed on the business end, rather than moving around. She's got good enthusiasm and puts on a good show, but I still have to say thumbs down on this scene.

There's no real story in scene 6: Autumn Hale is sitting on her bed and a bunch of guys start gang-fucking her at her request. The performers all try hard, but the lack of a setup means that's one less area where the scene could have stood out, and we're left with the mechanics of the sex scene itself. In which the audio was so lousy that at one point you can clearly see her talking to one of the guys, but you can't hear anything. The camera also tends to park itself behind the performers and not move. Thumbs down.

Scene 7 stars Envy, a girl who seems too pretty for porn. She finds out that the repair bill for her car is going to be higher than she expected, so what's a girl to do? Obviously, she has to pay with the only thing she has: pussy and ass. Envy is one of those girls who is very well-suited to gangbang videos, because she seems able to take even the largest cocks without difficulty or even losing her smile. But at the same time, she doesn't get bored with it and stop making noise so she can wait till it's over, unlike some of the other girls in this business. Thumbs up.

Scene 8 is another thoroughly plotless scene, but the performers do a pretty good job with it. All the usual action is there, with decent enthusiasm and vocalizing. At one point they get the girl (Lianne Yung) to ask for a cock in her ass, prepare the cock in question, and then shove herself back onto the dick. In general, the sex is portrayed as being for her enjoyment, and the scene gets a thumbs up.

In conclusion, disc 5 has #3, #4, #7, and #8 to recommend it, with a conditional recommendation for scene #2 if you do some careful editing on the clip in order to remove the annoying parts.

All in all, that's 16 good scenes out of 40 total. This 5-disc set is batting well under .500, which would normally earn it a rather poor rating. But at such an absurdly low price that it costs no more than most single-disc movies, it's actually a bargain despite its low batting average.
