Priscilla

Priscilla (full name: Priscilla: Vices and Prostitution) is a Marc Dorcel production directed by Alain Payet, told mostly through the main character's voice-over narrative. It's about a girl named Priscilla (played by Priscilla Sol) whose old college friend Alexandra (played by Angel Dark) is trying to draw her into the prostitution business. Of course, this being a Marc Dorcel porno movie, Priscilla and Alexandra have the appearance and affluence of extremely high-priced call girls (think about the kind of money that Charlie Sheen was paying Heidi Fleiss), yet they're still picking up men off the street. Many of the scenes are based on the flimsy plot device or Priscilla describing how some of the other girls in Alexandra's prostitution ring operate: a device which allows the producers to pretty much shoehorn any scene they want into the film with a variety of performers while still maintaining the pretense of a coherent story via Priscilla's narrative.

As a result, the first scene does not involve Priscilla at all. Priscilla is still trying to decide whether she wants to do this, so the first scene involves Suzie (played by Suzie Carina), another old college friend of Priscilla and Alexandra who is already a member of Alexandra's prostitution ring. This must have been an interesting college class! In any case, she puts on a pretense of being a student, and picks up two men in a park. The resulting scene is fairly well-done; everyone looks good and seems to be enjoying themselves. Condoms are used: another indication of a couple-friendly video. I should note here that, unlike many porn fans, I have absolutely no problem with condoms in the movies. I hate using a condom myself, but I honestly don't see how they detract from the sexual excitement of a porno movie in any way; what difference should it make to a viewer if the guy is wearing a condom? In any case, the performers are vocal and demonstrate good energy, and the use of changing positions and camera movements keeps the scene moving along quickly, without ever bogging down in the protracted gynecological close-ups which are so annoyingly common in American porn. Of course, as mentioned previously, this is a Marc Dorcel video, so Suzie takes a DP.

Now we cut back to Priscilla and Alexandra sitting in Alexandra's BMW, and Priscilla has made up her mind. Care to guess what she chose? We soon see them picking up a businessman off the street. I don't know what city in the world has prostitutes who own BMWs and look like models, but it must be a great place to live. Anyway, they take him to a room and both service him at once; I wonder if he paid extra or got a "two for one" deal. Once again, Alain Payet does a good job of making a scene which has good sexual energy and never becomes abusive, repetitive, or gynecological, unlike so many lesser porn directors (a group which unfortunately constitutes the vast majority).

The third scene starts with Cynthia (played by Cynthia Lavigne), yet another hot college friend of Alexandra who is now part of her prostitution ring. Seriously, I know guys who would have given their right arms to go to this college. Anyway, while Suzie's specialty was to play the innocent waif and pick up men in the daytime, Cynthia likes to hang out with the whores in the red-light district at night and have seamy encounters. This she does, in a tawdry encounter on a park bench.

From here we go back to Priscilla, who has apparently been talking to Cynthia and decides to try following her down into the seedy side of the business. From here we get four scenes to finish the film: she picks up a trucker, then she buys a prostitute for Pascal (one of Cynthia's longtime customers) so she can watch him fuck her while playing with herself. Alexandra sends her two clients at this point (both of whom she services eagerly), and then finally she goes to the red-light district and gives freebies to the first group of men she sees, thus completing her journey into becoming a full-blown whore.

I hate to say that the film drags toward the end because it's all so well-done (and the last scene is quite creative, taking place in darkness with the men using flashlights to illuminate her), but perhaps I'm expecting some sort of escalation that never happens or an interesting plot twist, and I should keep in mind that this is porno, not the Cannes film festival. In any case, I can't fault the film for the quality of its production or its sex scenes. They're all very well done, and the film is top-notch from beginning to end. Why can't American pornographers make movies like this?
